The world is a ghetto. . .

well maybe not. But it sure is gully in Sao Paulo. I´ve spent the last two days navigating the streets of downtown Sao Paulo and am supprised by a lot of what I see. First off-it´s a beautiful city. Eurpoean style buildings, large main streets, tiled sidewalks. In my opinion it rivals New York.

I´m bugged out by how prostitues just chill all day looking for customers. How the rich and poor share the same social spaces. How people of all different shades and colors just mix. It´s refreshing. I mean New York is divers. . .true. But you´ll never see lawyers, wall street types, drug dealer, hustlers, prostitues, and students all in the same place at once.

I´m still feeling the jet lag. And still trying to find out the best way to communitcate with people. For the most part they can pick up my spanish and I can pick up their portugese. But the lady here at the internet spot just gave me a blank stare when I asked her if I could hook up my USB pen drive to the computer. So I don´t know-I think I may run into some barriers pretty soon. It´s still all good in the hood. And the world indeed is a ghetto.
